Icons and Ecumenism – November 4, 2018, 2:00 p.m.

The Musée Ukrainian 222 Ave M South, Saskatoon: An icon is a religious work of art, most commonly a painting. The most common subjects include Christ, Mary, saints and angels. The Prairie Centre for Ecumenism is pleased to offer you the opportunity to join an educational tour where you will learn more about these beautiful and meaningful works of art.

The Musée Ukrainian Museum will be the starting point of the tour and exploration of the significance of icons in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. November 4, 2018.

We will continue on to St. George’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cathedral, which will be open for us at 2:30 pm.

The Shrine of the Blessed Martyrs Olympia and Laurentia will be our next visit at 3:00pm.

The participants will experience a pilgrimage within a block of Avenue M, also known as Sister Theodosia Lane after the Mother Superior who was instrumental in developing the

Shrine, the Sister’s Residence and Saint Joseph’s Seniors Home.
