On Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Electoral Synod a new Bishop is to be elected for our Diocese. This is your invitation to prayerfully support the work of the Synod Delegates.
The Prayer Vigil will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until a bishop is elected. We will meet in the Cathedral Hall basement and stay as long as needed. Each participant will commit to receive no communication via phone calls, emails or personal messages during the sequestered Vigil. We will be notified by a Synod delegate only when a bishop has been elected.
If you wish, bring any devotional materials you find useful. Prayer Books and hymnals will be provided. Bring a bag lunch if you are staying over lunch. Please be prepared to stay for the Synod’s duration. Coffee, tea and muffins will be supplied for breaks.
It is important to receive your response to this invitation by Wednesday, September 5. Call or email the numbers below to say how you wish to participate and leave a phone number or email address.
The choices are:
- I will come Saturday, September 8, to the Cathedral Hall basement at 10 a.m. and am prepared to stay in prayer support until a bishop is elected.
- I will come Saturday, September 8, to the Cathedral Hall basement at 10 a.m. and will stay as long as I can.
- I will remain at home or in my parish Church with others and join spiritually in prayer with the Cathedral Hall Prayer Vigil.
Thank you for considering this invitation. Together across the Diocese our prayers will support the Delegates and the Candidates for the work of the Holy Spirit in all the proceedings. We all have a part to play in the selection of our new bishop.
