The Stewardship Ministry team (SMT) is excited to announce the campaign for Giving Tuesday December 1st at St. Johns!
The year 2020 has presented unique challenges for people all over the world including us in St. John’s parish community. But as happens so often when we trust God, challenges can also become opportunities to learn and grow. Communities across the world have pulled together to care for each other in unprecedented ways and St. Johns is no exception, with our Cathedral Shepherd program.
Giving Tuesday is a one-day global online campaign which takes place the first Tuesday in December. It is an opportunity for people to support projects in the communities they care about as part of their generosity in the gift giving season.
This year, the St. Johns Ministry team has adapted to COVID-19 restrictions for worship by providing recordings of St. John’s services online on YouTube. These services have been embraced by young and older alike in our parish and beyond as a meaningful way to take part in worship from the comfort and safety of home. But there are challenges we need to address in providing these services and our goal to live stream them in the future.
So in the weekly parish e-newsletters leading up to December 1st, the SMT will telling you more about this project and how you can help before and on Giving Tuesday December 1st. Our goal for December 1st is to raise $3,500 to allow these important services to continue to be provided online more permanently. You will be able to give easily through the parish website with your credit card, with the link provided. You can also mail a cheque designated for Giving Tuesday to the parish office or in include it in your offering envelope. You can give to this project at anytime up to a week after Giving Tuesday.
